snow pics
The pics of the snow is the first blizzard we have ever had here in my lifetime. I got out and trudged through the snowdrifts to photograph this phenomanon. I love the pic of our bench by the river!

Experimenting
I started experimenting with Tim Holtz's Distress Reinkers, Pearl-Ex powders and Glimmer Mist. I misted this page with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist and let dry. Then I mixed in a small mister, Tim's reinker for Spiced Marmalade, Copper Pearl-Ex powder and water. I misted it over the top of the Glimmer Mist. You'll notice that this mixture tended to bead up quite a bit. I think I may have sprayed it on too thickly................I like the way it looks anyway and will be using it. The Spiced Marmalade is one of my new favorites. ")
Antiqued Glimmer Paper
I have had such fun this week trying out this new technique (to me, anyway) that was in the Dec 2009 TJNewsletter. As soon as I read about it, I knew I just had to try it out. My studio is now littered with dozens of sheets of paper lying around drying. ") This technique is now my new favorite. Go to: patstamps.blogspot.com to see some of her work and get the info for signing up for the newletter.

Pg 1
This is the inside front cover and the first page. As you can see, each page will have words that start with the letter on the tab.
I have had a lifelong love affair with words, text, alphas, etc. I love using them in all my artwork.

Library Card mini-book
This is the Library Card Pocket mini-book that I made for my friend, Sara, in our local art group. I painted some watercolor paper with thinned down red and let dry. Later I added the swipes of thicker red and used a leather tool to make imprints into the thicker part of the paint. I used a small lid and dipped it into ultramarine blue and made rings randomly on the paper. Lastly, I dripped green paint over the paper. After it was completely dry, I made the book covers for this mini-book.
I chose to do definitions. Thus, the title "Define It!"
Each page inside has various words defined and tags in the pockets that continue the theme. I used little tabs on the fronts of the pages and attached typewriter alphabet stickers to them so that they spell out "DEFINE" when laying closed. I attached the red ribbon underneath the covers and then added a red velvet leaf to the front of the book.
